Getting started

Nine steps to a dashboard with your numbers in it.

Roughly fifteen minutes, most of it Amazon's login and the first import. Three of these happen here, one in your inbox, the rest in the app. Nothing below costs anything.

  1. 01On this site

    Create your account

Email and a password, or one tap with Google. Nothing to pay and no card — SelfPub Go is in closed early access, so the app is free while it is.

  2. 02In your inbox

    Confirm your email

We send a single link. Opening it proves the address is yours and drops you back on the site, signed in. Signing up with Google skips this — Google has already confirmed the address.

Nothing after a minute? It is almost always in spam. The sender is support@selfpubgo.com.

  3. 03On this site

    Pick your defaults

One screen: what to call your workspace, which Amazon marketplace you sell in most, and the language for your reports. Everything is pre-filled and every field is changeable later, so Skip is a real option.

    Download the app

The work happens in a desktop app for macOS and Windows, not in the browser — your royalty history is kept in a database on your own machine. The download page picks the right build for the computer you are on.

  5. 05On your computer

    Install it

On macOS the build is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. On Windows it installs from the Microsoft Store and is signed by Microsoft, so there is no publisher warning either — if Windows asks to open the Store, allow it.

On a work computer where the Store is switched off by policy, ask IT to allow it, or write to support@selfpubgo.com.

  6. 06In the app

    Sign in through your browser

The app opens a browser tab, you confirm it is you, and the tab hands the session back. Allow the prompt asking to open SelfPub Go — that prompt is the handoff.

  7. 07In the app

    Connect Amazon Ads

You authorize us through Amazon's own login, and campaigns, spend and sales start importing. Access is read-only until you approve a change, and you can revoke it from your Amazon account at any time.

    Upload a KDP royalty report

Amazon does not expose royalties over an API, so this part is a file: download your royalty report from the Reports section of KDP, then choose the file with the “Upload KDP report” button on the Royalty screen or in Settings → Import. It is what turns ad spend into actual profit and TACoS. The file stays on your machine.

Settings → Import also has Auto-import from Downloads. Switch it on, and each KDP report you download while the app is open imports itself.

  9. 09In the app

    Add your first book

Set its royalty and break-even ACOS. From here every number you see is measured against your own margin instead of a generic benchmark — which is the whole point.

Stuck on one of these?

Write to support@selfpubgo.com and say which step number you are on. During early access that mailbox is read by the people who build the thing.
